The engine works in a simple way. A camshaft pushes a rod that moves whats called a rocker arm. The rocker arm pushes the valve down. This way your valves open and close with the pace of the camshaft. When they open, your fuel runs in, pushing the piston in the cylinder down. The crankshaft turns, pushing the piston up. The gas is pressurized and the spark plug ignites, pushing your crankshaft back down. The exhaust valve then opens to release the leftover gases. The valves are the one of the most important parts of the engine. They control the pace your engine takes gas. AKA they determine how much power your car can have if supported by cam. Often Carbon builds up on valves, and they get stuck. In order to get to your valves, you basically have to completely tear apart your engine. Its not hard at all, but will take alot of time and the money you spend will mostly be for the labor. If you find a good friend who is even somewhat good with cars you can probably get it done cheaper than

if you need a valve job done then you have 2 options to go with. you can get the valves ground and seated or you can go with new valves. either way you should have the seals and guides replaced.
