How modern civilization has impacted the spiritual lives of the indigenous peoples you explored?
Whenever a more ‘advanced’ culture has met with a less developed one, the resulting culture shock for the indigenous society has always been profound. It’s hard to get people to stick to the old ways, like dressing out deer or harvesting with stone tools after they have seen metal ones. As a result of seeing superior technology, they often come to believe that the new culture is superior in almost every way and the old beliefs and traditions tend to fall apart.
