How mission plans to achieve it?
GSDM has decided to focus on aggregation and convergence rather than jumping into training. Actually if the problems of the skill development scenario is analyzed then it will be clear that there are indeed four major problem namely quantity, quality, mismatch of demand-supply and information gap. If we take analogy of skill with fruit then the first problem is that there are not enough fruits in the market. Second problem is that whatever fruits are supplied are not of good quality. Third problem is that if the quality is right then it is not as per the demand e.g. the demand is of mango and the supply is of guava. And the fourth problem is that even if everything is correct the person who is looking for mango does not know where to find the person who is selling the mangos!! Coming back to skill development, GSDM realised that, just focusing on quantity without taking care of the rest three major problems will not yield any tangible results.
