How misogynist is Italy as a country?
In Italy, the family is regarded as important and men and women have different roles. Mama runs the family and woe betide any man who steps out of line. On the other hand, the idea of female priests, plumbers or wine waiters would be regarded as very strange. Berlusconi is an elderly slime-ball with a liking for girls 50 years his junior. Unfortunately, there is a lot of sympathy for him among elderly slime-balls, and that’s probably enough to keep him in power. Traditionally, he would have a wife twice his weight who would beat such ideas out of him. However, Mrs B has a different agenda that should leave her without Silvio but still with most of his money.
