How might history have changed if African-Americans never came to America?
That is the question students in Ms. Rack’s Black History class at John F. Kennedy High School (JFK) sought to answer—first in a play, and now in a film for Black History Month. With the help of student teacher Michael Milling, students researched the enormous impact African-Americans have had on American society. Also in recognition of BHM, the Teen Center at JFK hosted a walk through history and showed the movie, Roots, during the lunch period. Dance club takes service seriously! With actions that belie the name of their organization, School 21’s “Latin Dance Club” plays an active role in improving their school and neighborhood.
