How may money be placed in an inmate’s account?

Inmates may not receive cash but may receive money orders, cashier’s and government checks, providing they are made payable to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center and bear the inmate’s name. Money orders and cashier’s checks must be mailed to the inmate and the return envelope must include the sender’s name and address. Providing these requirements are met, the inmate is given a receipt and the funds are deposited in the inmate’s account within three days following receipt. Money orders and checks not meeting these requirements are returned to sender. No deposits will be accepted from visitors.
