How may Eagle projects be financed?
Financing is one element but should not be the dominant component of an Eagle Project. Donations or discounts can be sought from lumber yards, nurseries etc., the benefiting organization may cover materials, donations can solicited from community organizations (e.g. Rotary or Elk Clubs, Knights of Columbus), or a combination of these. (An Eagle candidate in uniform speaking to a community organization gains public speaking experience, garners positive publicity for Scouting, and seldom leaves empty-handed.) Once such avenues have been exhausted, the remaining costs may be supplemented by parents. Solicitation of public funds requires Council approval.
