How many zeros in 6 billion?

The answer is not nine it is twelve! A UK billion has twelve zeroes, a US billion only has nine but since it is our language I’d say there’s a pretty good chance we’re more likely to be correct than they are! Although it does depend why you are asking, if it’s just out of curiosity then go with twelve (the technically correct answer) if you are actually using this knowledge go with nine…. this is now generally accepted everywhere in the business world. It’s just easier to switch down to nine zeroes in the UK than to try to explain to Americans that they are wrong everytime there is an international transaction.
