How many years have you been doing Rok Box?
Randy Davila: We first did it about three years ago as a once-a month event, and then we actually only ended up with a total of nine parties. The unbelievable part about it was that people were still talking about Rok Box. It’s the only party in town that you hear people actually referring to the name instead of just saying, “Oh, I’m going to Tabú tonight.” JC: What do you feel makes a good party in Las Vegas? Davila: First and foremost, the crowd; secondly, the music. I feel like the music at most places in Las Vegas just gets boring, as they don’t think outside the box in what they can play. JC: Was that part of the inspiration behind the name “Rok Box?” Davila: Yeah, that’s the whole thing. It’s all about putting the right people in the room with the right attitude and, of course, with the right music. And while it’s not the way I would throw an actual rock party, we have it set up to where it will appeal to everyone’s music taste by playing rock music, mash-ups and even an infusion
