BOSTON, MA (May 2005) – The BeanTown Jazz Festival, held in Bostons historic South End on Columbus Avenue, will mark its 5th year by opening one day sooner, both expanding and intensifying its jazz music performances, family fun and cuisine from Bostons top restaurants. Jazz Fest Producer/Darryl Settles said, Adding a day to the Jazz Fest has given us the ability to go even deeper into the jazz culture, highlighting both the classic and the current like never before. The opening night concert, presented by Berklee College of Music, is set for Friday, September 23rd at the Berklee Performance Center, and the Festival will continue on Saturday, September 24th from 12:00 noon to 7:00pm. The event, expected to attract over 40,000 music lovers throughout the day, will benefit Prostate Cancer Awareness & Research.
