How many years exactly/estimated does it take to become infertile from having chlamydia?
This depends on the person. For some people it may take months – for others it may take years. If chlamydia is left untreated in females they can eventually get Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). This is the disease that causes women and girls to become infertile. Anyone who has sex should be tested for STI like chlamydia and gonnorhea every year. If you are not using condoms, you should be tested for STI more often (every six months). If you are making a decision to become sexually active, or if you already are sexually active, it is important that you practice safer sex each time by using condoms and dental dams and get tested yearly (or before each new partner).
