1) It depends on the charity that you work through. Usually there is no set time to sponsor a child, though if you are going to be corresponding with the child it may be a good idea to plan for long term sponsorship. 2) As long as the charity that you’re using has no limitations on the country donors live in, the only thing I would worry about you moving to another country is how your monthly payment to the charity is set up. Is it an automatic deduction from your bank account? If so and your banking information will be changing during the move, it may be a good idea to wait until the move is finished, or prepay a few months ahead of time so that you don’t have to worry about missing your payment. I’ve been sponsoring a child since college, almost 7 years now. I’d recommend you do some research on the charity you choose to work towards, since there are so many scam artists out there.
