It took 2,000 years to buil the Great Wall of China. The wall was first built in 770 B.C., when China was divided into many small states. By 221 B.C., the Qin Dynasty emperor linked three states’ walls to form the first part of the Great Wall. Frequently billed as the only man-made object visible from space, the Great Wall isnt visible to the unaided eye, NASA reports. Chinas own astronaut, Yang Liwei, said he couldnt see it from space.
