Only two of King Henry’s six wives were beheaded. Catherine who was married to the King from 1509 to 1533 was divorced. Anne Boleyn who was married to the King from 1533 to 1536 was beheaded. She gave the king a daughter but miscarried with a girl and later with a boy. A conspiracy developed that was intended to prove that Anne was involved in adultery and a number of her family and friends were arrested. Through torture they were able to put together enough of a case to try Anne for adultery and she was found guilty. A special executioner was brought in just for her and she was executed in 1536.
