How many winners will there be?
The historic place that wins the public vote is guaranteed a preservation grant. American Express, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and a special Advisory Committee made up of local preservation, business and civic leaders will review the public’s votes along with each site’s preservation and monetary needs to determine how the rest of the $1 million in preservation grants will be awarded. Grants will be calculated according to the financial support required to fulfill preservation and restoration projects at the chosen sites. Not all sites will receive funding. The final list of historic places to be awarded grants will be announced in Greater Boston and on this website on June 16th 2009.
