How many were hurt in the fight, stabbing at Cook County Jail?
At least 11 Cook County Jail inmates were treated for stabbing injuries after a fight broke out at breakfast early this morning, authorities said. Five of the injured inmates were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries and six were treated at Cermak Hospital at the jail complex, said Brittney Blair, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s police. No guards were hurt, she said. Blair described the injuries as “very, very basic.” She added that charges could be filed later today. The fight broke out at about 4:30 a.m. in Division One, a maximum security section of the jail, Blair said. About 36 inmates were in an enclosed tier eating breakfast when the fight broke out. An Emergency Medical Services Plan 1, which sends out five ambulances, was called for the jail just before 5:15 a.m. Sources: http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/08/at-least-6-stabbed-at-c
