How many wells were removed by the end of 1987?
No additional wells were taken out of service due to the presence of VOCs. One of the closed wells, TT-23, was used one day in March 1985 and three days in April 1985 to meet water needs at Tarawa Terrace. This well was used with sampling and oversight provided by the State of North Carolina, which has primary authority for Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) regulation within the state.
