Three weeks. Also, time it during the week so that it arrives on a Friday or Saturday. When friends receive the invitation card on a busy weekday it may likely get tossed into a pile of “get around to it” mail or lost altogether. However, when the invitation arrives on Friday or Saturday, you will most likely get a timely response. This is due to the timing your friends will have to plan for your event on the “weekend”. Your party-goers will have just a little more time to deal with their social calendar, coordinate dates, travel, babysitters and other incidental details. It becomes a coordinated effort on your part that your guests will appreciate.
