How many votes are required to approve a variance request?
A majority vote (three members) is required to approve any request made to the Zoning Board of Appeals. If only three members are present at a particular meeting, all three affirmative votes must be received. If less than the full five members are present at a meeting, the applicant has a right to request that the item be tabled until a future meeting date.
