How many Vampire Diaries books are there?
there is only one Vampire Diaries series which is the one the show is based off. Some have different covers because they were written a long time ago. Also, when they were written they were shorter, so the publishing companies have recently started putting two books in one. There are currently 5 five books, although there are more being written. They are The Awakening (1991), The Struggle (1991), The Fury (1991), 4. Dark Reunion (1992). Those were the original books, but now there is a new Vampire Diaries series written by the same author which is just a continuation of his original books, The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Nightfall (February 10, 2009). There are more to come but those are the ones out now. I would suggest buying the books that have two in one. There are three of them, the first has The awakening and The Struggle, the second The Fury and Dark Reunion and the third has just one book The return: Nightfall because it is longer.
