How many UGE credits do students need to graduate?
Most students will need 18 hours of UGE credit; at least 6 hours of UGE credit must be at the 300 level or higher. Requirements for transfer students vary. Colleges, departments, and individual students may choose to extend general education studies beyond the University’s minimum requirement. The University General Education plan encourages general education study across most, if not all, of the undergraduate years. Thus, at least one-third of students’ UGE programs must be upper division courses/experiences approved for UGE credit.
