How many types of triangles are there other than the acute triangle?
Other than the acute triangle(acute triangles are triangles in which all angles measure less than ninety degrees), there are six other triangles. They are as follows: -Scalene- no congruent sides -Isosceles – two congruent sides -Equilateral – three congruent sides. -Right – one angle measures exactly ninety degrees. -Obtuse – one angle measures more than ninety degrees. -Equiangular – all angles measure the same (60 degrees). This is sometimes called an equilateral triangle. I found another site which had diagrams and information about each triangle, and here’s an amusing joke about acute triangles from that site:(http://www.coolmath.com/reference/triangles-types.html) Acute triangles are better looking than all the other triangles. (Pathetic attempt at a math joke.) Sources: http://regentsprep.org/regents/math/triang/LTriangle.
