Answer. Revision number. It is generally used by Sales and Purchase modules, to maintain the revision state of their documents. Revision number is generally used for the documents which needs to be revised from time to time such as Purchase Order, Quotation, Invoice, Production Order, etc. The system ensures that the serial number for the revised document should remain the same and only the revision number should be added/appended to the existing serial number for that document.
