How Many Types Of Mining Are There?
Mining is basically done to extract out minerals, which are natural resources that Nature has filled the earth with. Some minerals are found on the surface of the earth while others are found deeper in the ground. To extract out each mineral from the earth, there are different processes such as open cast mining, placer mining and underground mining. In open cast mining, the minerals that lie on the surface of the earth or very near the surface are scooped and scratched out from the surface. This is done with the help of gargantuan excavators and power shovels, which strip off the mineral bearing rocks. In placer mining or mining in water, those minerals are extracted that lie under water such as manganese. As for underground mining, this mining deals with all those minerals that lie beneath the surface of the ground. This process is sometimes a dangerous one as miners are sometimes trapped deep under the ground.
