How many travel plans provided for employees to be given bus or tram allowances?
A. Employees would be refunded the cost of tickets or if they used their season tickets a part refund within certain travel plans, but there was a distinction between refunds for travelling to and from work and travelling within work. The former was a taxable allowance. Many organisations paid their employees a cycling allowance and provided pool season tickets. A number of schools had devised transport plans but there was a hard core of parents who persisted in driving their children to school, although the schools encouraged them not to do so. So far 50-60% of schools had prepared transport plans and the aim was to encourage them all to do so by 2010.
