-There have been no tornadoes to hit the town of Idabel, OK in the last five years, although there have have been three to hit the county of McCurtain in the year 2003. The most recent one to hit the county was on May 14, 2003 which was an F2 that traveled over several counties in Texas and Oklahoma. Thankfully, no deaths or injuries were reported. -The most recent tornado to hit the town of Idabel itself was on April 23, 2000. It was an F1 that formed in the southeast part of town (around Lincoln Rd.) and traveled 17 miles before dissipating.
