How many titanic survivors were alive to see the 1997 film Titanic?
Eight Titanic survivors were living at the time the Cameron movie was released. Of those, only two (Eleanor Johnson Shuman and Michel Navratil) are known to have seen the movie. Ms. Shuman saw the film four times and found it both moving but also breathtaking. Mr. Navratil saw the film only once, from the privacy of his own home. He said that he enjoyed certain scenes, such as the dolphins diving in front of the stern at the opening of the film, and when the lifeboat went back for survivors at the end.
