How many times should I baste a turkey while its in the oven?

I was thinking every half hour or to an hour after the first 2 hours I think…….however……I found that if you bake your turkey in an oven bag that you do not need to baste the turkey and it will come out soo moist that it will practically fall off the bones! I got my turkey ready and rubbed it down with butter and then I put my seasonings on top of that and stuck my turkey in an oven bag, loosely tightened to give the bag room to expand and I cut small slits in the top for the steam to escape…..I bake it on 250 degrees from 6:30 am until 4 pm and then I upped the temp to 300 degrees and cooked it for another hour…..I took it out and when my Dad went to cut the turkey, it was soo moist it did fall off the bone….he had a hard time trying to cut it without it falling apart!
