Your pup can be fed four times daily. Use a good quality meat based puppy food. You can add a little water to the food to make it easier for the puppy to chew. Do not use cow’s milk as that can cause diarrhea in pups. When your pup is 12 weeks old you can decrease the feeding times down to three times a day. At 16 weeks, you can go twice daily. When the pup is 8 months old you can go once daily, however many people continue to feed twice daily for the life of the dog which is fine. Another rule of thumb is to feed 1 cup of food per 20 pounds of puppy per feeding until the puppy is 8 months old. Then the amount changes to 1 cup/20# per day.
