How many times can an employee turn down a job offer?
If you are on the re-employment list you can turn down a position three times. After the third time, you generally go to the bottom of the list for that position. If you are on the SEBAC list and turn down a suitable job offer you will be placed in an inactive status for that position classification in that agency. If you turn down a position two times you will be placed in an inactive status for that position statewide. If you turn down a position three times you will be placed in an inactive status for all SEBAC job opportunities.
