How many times before have you hit balls or actually been in competition at Crystal Quarry Springs GC?
Dustin: Hitting and practicing I’d say 3 days a week for the past 7 years. As far as competition I would say about 5 or 6. LDA: Did you feel you had an advantage being on familiar turf? Dustin: Absolutely. However, the slightest weather conditions can eliminate that familiar feeling. LDA: Who was in your entourage cheering you on? Dustin: Mom and Dad were there as usual. Most of my friends were in the competition, but as they say “No friends on Saturday”. LDA: What adjustments did you make for the wet (rainy) conditions? Did you change drivers to create a different trajectory and get more carry? Dustin: I did change. First set I hit one good ball and put my gamer down to preserve it. But as the day went I went to a higher loft (7*) to keep the ball in the air. When I was warming up my flight was too low. LDA: How did you deal with the head wind that came up in the late rounds?
