Some rules of thumb: • If the pup leaves the dish for any reason other than to investigate the thing you dropped nearby (after which he/she rushes back to the dish), you pick the dish up and put it away until next meal time, and for a while you feed a little less at each meal. • If the pup keeps hopefully licking the bowl long after it is clean, you need to increase the amount of food.
