Shane Warne finished his career with 708 Test wickets from 145 matches. At the time of his retirement this was the most ever taken by a single bowler, however since then he has been surpassed by Muttiah Muralidaran.

Shane Warne still holds the record for the most wickets against Test quality sides (Bangladesh and Zimbabwe aren’t Test quality – Zimbabwe should have been stripped of Test status years ago due to their “reverse-apartheid”, and Bangladesh still aren’t ready – Kenya plays better cricket than either). Warne also holds the record for the most wickets taken with an unquestionably legal bowling action. Muralidharan’s doosra is still illegal imo. And they didn’t change the rules for Ian Meckiff.
