How many teachers does OECTA represent and where do they work?
OECTA has approximately 36,000 members consisting of teachers working in Ontario’s separate schools, and occasional teachers. Approximately one half of members are in the Golden Horseshoe and Hamilton area, in Dufferin-Peel, Durham, Metro Toronto, Simcoe and York. There are more than 6,000 teachers in Metro Toronto alone.
