How many students will be accepted into Dr. Edward Roberson Middle School?
About 1,200 students, consisting of about 400 students in each grade level (sixth, seventh and eighth). If we have more than 420 students apply within one grade level, the district’s external consultants will utilize a random student selection process to determine which students will be accepted. Ideally, about 100 applicants from each of the six middle schools in the district will be randomly selected to obtain the first 600 students. All other applicants will be randomly selected from a district-wide pool that will consider factors like campus size and overcrowding. A waiting list will be created from the remaining applicants in the districtwide pool. The waiting list will also be formulated by the random selection process. The students on the waiting list will fill any vacancies left by students who transfer from the school, or who decide not to return after completing the school year.
