– Collapse + Expand 26 students from Dana Hall School’s Upper and Middle School Equestrian teams competed in Regional Finals at Volo Farm in Westford, Mass. Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5. After the weekend competition, the Upper School team earned the title of 2009 Region 2 Champions, and 13 riders moved on to the Zone Finals which were held Monday, April 6. A. Altman ’11, A. Bertelson’13, A. Corless ’13, G. Dobbin ’11, M. Gordon ’11, J. Johnson ’12, A. Joyce ’11, E. Kenny ’12, S. Kinch ’11, C. Lorusso ’09, K.Stento ’11, A. Suitor ’12 and S. Taft ’14 competed in the Zone finals. In addition to their success over the weekend, eight students have qualified for Nationals in Painesville, Ohio Thursday, April 30- Sunday, May 3. A. Six Dana Hall School students have been recognized by the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program. V. Madigan ’10 was named a National Merit Semifinalist, while J. Hurley ’10, E. Leghorn ’10, A. Porter ’10, L. Stanford ’10 and S. Venditti ’10 were named Commended Students. Letters of Commendation from Dana Hall and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by Head of School Caroline Erisman to these scholastically talented seniors. Semifinalists are the highest scorers in each of the 50 states and have the opportunity to continue in the National Merit Scholarship competition.
