How many students are enrolled in the PhD program?
IAs of fall 2008 the approximate number of students in the PhD program is 150, more than half of whom have completed coursework and are researching and writing their dissertation. Twenty new students are entering the program this fall, 34 are teaching as Section Leaders or Reader/Graders and are in their second or third year, 15 are Fellows in Teaching at the advanced level (Art Humanities); 11 are on Departmental or GSAS Dissertation Fellowships, and 12 are on outside dissertation fellowships.
