How Many Stations Does The Piccadilly Line On The London Underground Serve?
The Piccadilly Line on the London Underground serves 52 stations. The northern end of the line terminates at Cockfosters, whilst the south-western end of the line splits into two branches, resulting in terminals at either Uxbridge or Heathrow Airport. Stations of note in between include Earls Court, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Kings Cross and Arsenal. The Piccadilly Line opened in 1906 and originally only covered the distance between Finsbury Park and Hammersmith. A branch line to Aldwych Station on the Strand opened in 1907. During the 1930s extensions to Cockfosters, Uxbridge and Hounslow were built, with Heathrow eventually being incorporated during the 1970s.
