You will need a unique certificate for each fully qualified domain per server instance. For example, digitalid.verisign.com and www.verisign.com require unique certificates. If you are using one fully qualified domain on multiple servers that operate simultaneously (for example, in a load balancing environment) then each individual server will require a unique certificate.
