There are six subspecies of Tiger left in the world.Amur (Siberian) tiger. Approx 450 left in the wild.Bengal tiger. Approx 1850 left in the wild.Indochinese tiger. Approx 300 left in the wild.Malayan tiger. Approx 500 left in the wild.South China tiger. Functionally extinct. There are no areas that are sustainable for them to survive if there are any individuals left in the wild.Sumatran tiger. Approx 400 left in the wild. Added the number of remaining tigers just for informational purposes. It’s really heartbreaking the rate that these animals are disappearing. These numbers do not include captive tigers.
