How many species of huckleberries are there?
There are about 40 species of huckleberries found throughout the U.S. and the rest of the world. There are about 10 species of huckleberries found here in the Pacific Northwest alone. Many people mistake wild blueberries for huckleberries however huckleberries always possess 10 small seeds inside and a bluish color whereas wild blueberries have a whitish interior and many, many seeds.
