How many snow days are allowed before the Lawrence school district eliminates the April 18 inclement weather date?
Julie Boyle, district communications director, said Thursday’s day off of school doesn’t have to be made up. The Lawrence district’s calendar contains enough extra hours to cover time lost Thursday after the snowstorm. Students would have to make up a second inclement weather day this school year. The scheduled make-up day is April 18. A third day off from school due to bad weather would be a freebie. That’s because the state forgives one day if a district designates an official make-up day on its calendar. Students would have to make up all missed days beyond three.
