How many private insurance plans cover elective abortion nowadays?
None of the plans I’ve had since I’ve been on my own covered it. Presumably basic mandatory coverage would include maternity care, many states mandate this already. Any insurance company that cuts abortion coverage as a “cost cutting measure” will automatically be on the hook for much more expensive prenatal, maternity, and pediatric care.
