This depends on how thick of a coating you apply, and how much waste there is to over-spray (outside the inkjet print you are trying to cover). The Optima MAXIM XE was originally developed for wide-format (24″ to 54″ wide media in rolls) inkjet-plotter prints. In this application MAXIM XE is normally applied with an automated roller system (and is purchased by the gallon). Using this method, a gallon of MAXIM XE will cover about 1,200 square feet. When applying MAXIM XE to canvas prints, using a standard hand-held paint roller or brush, the coverage per gallon is much less due to the absorbency of the canvas, and the thicker application method. The OPTIMA SUPER SHOT was developed to conveniently and evenly apply MAXIM XE to much smaller desktop inkjet prints (i.e. letter size to 17″ x 22″). Our Optima Super Shots are filled with 12 oz. of MAXIM XE (leaving a 4 oz. space for compressed air). We predict that the MAXIM XE in the Optima Super Shot will treat and protect about nine (9) squa
