How many prank calls until the police will trace the call do you have to have?
I had this problem when I was about 17 and living at home. Some numpty got my land line number off a friend’s phone (she lent to him to make a quick call one day) and he kept ringing and ringing and ringing. After a week we reported it to BT and asked them if they could block him from calling us. They said no but gave us some advice. Then after two weeks we had diary sheets and whatever giving details of every call before sending them to BT to see if they could get the number. Things took ages, and we kept getting calls. Then the situation got worse, he somehow (and to this day I havent a clue how) he got my mobile number and rang me while i was in college telling me he was waiting outside for me and he was going to hurt me. i was too scared to leave the building and had my dad collect me. Of course he wasn’t waiting for me but it scared me enough not to want to take the chance.
