Depends on what you mean by pounds of food. If you are going to have steak or something the general rule is 1/2 lb per person or half a chicken breast etc. I do meals every year for large quantities of people- for corned beef and gabbage we go with 1/2 lbs of corned beef, 3-5 gabbage heads, two bags of carrots, a few onions, two large bags of salad mix (I forget the ounces) and 20 lbs of these little red potatoes that we cut in half, glaze in butter and bake… that is for eighty people and we always have enough.
