How many players can be drafted by a team?
This number depends on the number of players currently listed on a team’s affiliate list. Going into the draft, teams are allowed to protect four (4) players born in 1990 and four (4) players born in 1991. The first four rounds of the draft will be exclusively for players born in 1992. The next four rounds will be for players born in 1991. Depending on how many players were initially submitted on their affiliate list, a team could select up to eight (8) players. Teams had to submit their initial affiliated lists to the league office on September 6, 2008.
