The number of pictures that you can take may vary considerably depending on the battery manufacturer, shooting conditions, etc. Turn off the monitor whenever possible to save power. In some cases it can happen that the cameras lens won`t extract or the camera will not turn on.In this case change the battery manufacture or use Nimh or CRV3 batteries.
