Being a professional photographer just means you do it as your profession, not as a hobby. There are professional photographers who have never taken a photography class. So technically you don’t “need” to take any classes to become a professional.

With the advent of digital technology, it has become relatively easy for an amateur to learn the ropes. However, professional training is required to reach industry standards. Photography degrees and certificates are offered at most Photography Schools and are structured to train students to apply their basic creativity and imagination in a productive way. These courses are designed to bring out your hidden talent through systematic training and practice.

You can do what thousands of other people have done. Go to one of those schools that advertise on TV about how you can get a glamorous job as a photographer. The buildings look really neat and the people are very friendly. They will give you some tests that you can pass very easily. Then they will do your paperwork for getting a student loan. The bank will not turn you down regardless of your credit history. The classes will seem incredibly easy. The other students will seem quite dumb but don’t worry; that only means you are quite smart. As long as you show up you will pass with flying colors, maybe top of your class. There will be a graduation ceremony and everything along with a great looking diploma. Now you’re set. Just go to their job placement program. The nice lady will start looking for jobs on craigslist. Many places might take applications but none are hiring right now. You might want to start your own business but you weren’t taught how to do that. Then 6 months later comes
