How many phone numbers are there in the United States?
Canada the USA and some Caribbean countries share approximately 800 area codes. The maximum number of phone #’s possible in this system is approximately 6.4 billion phone numbers. Area codes are numbered from 201 to 999. Each area code has approximately 800 prefixes numbered from 200-999, each prefix has 10,000 phone numbers. Not all area codes, and prefixes are used and some are reserved for special uses.
